Privacy notice
What happens to the information you send us, in plain terms. Last updated 6 November 2026.
Who we are
GTA Cyber is the cybersecurity working group of Global Tech Advocates. It is run by Vivat LLC, a company based in the United States, which currently acts as the group’s keeper. Vivat LLC decides how the information described here is used and is responsible for it.
Contact for anything in this notice: info@gta-cyber.org.
This notice covers gta-cyber.org, the enquiry form on it, and email sent to gta-cyber.org addresses. Global Tech Advocates and its other networks run their own websites and have their own privacy policies, which do not cover GTA Cyber.
What we collect
- Through the enquiry form: your name, email address, organisation, GTA network, the topic you choose and anything you write in the message.
- When you email us: your email address, name and whatever the email contains.
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites while you browse. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service.
What we use it for
- To reply to you.
- To keep a GTA Cyber register of practitioners and organisations interested in the group, and to contact you about the group if your enquiry relates to taking part.
- To keep the site and the form secure, including filtering spam.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
- Formspree, Inc. (United States) receives form submissions, stores them and forwards them to us by email.
- Google provides the email service behind gta-cyber.org addresses.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
These providers act on our instructions. We do not pass your details to our sponsors, including our title sponsor, or to anyone else for their own use. The GTA Cyber register is kept separate from other Global Tech Advocates lists. We will disclose information if the law requires it.
Where it is held
Your information is held and processed in the United States. If you are outside the United States, data protection law there may differ from where you live.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and register entries for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to keep them longer.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Email info@gta-cyber.org and we will respond within 30 days.
Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because it does not track you.
If you are in the UK or European Union
UK and EU data protection law (the GDPR) applies to how we handle your information. In addition to the above:
- Legal basis. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the group. If you would rather we did not keep your details, tell us and we will delete them.
- Your rights. You also have the right to object to our use of your information, to restrict it, and to receive a copy in a portable format.
- The United States. Because Vivat LLC and Formspree are based in the United States, your information is handled there. Formspree states that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a data processor.
- Complaints. Please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or to the data protection authority where you live in the EU.
Children
GTA Cyber is for professionals. The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects information we already hold, we will tell you before it takes effect.
